  • My boyfriend and I just moved to this area five months ago and have been looking for a church to be able to meet people and worship. We tried several places but right when we walked in here, we knew this place was something special. EVERYONE was so welcoming and we immediately felt this was going to be our home church!

My daughter and her husband live in the Ashburn area and as I am visiting for the summer to care for our first grandbaby, we went to community church where our daughter has always wanted to visit. The sermon was delivered by the pastor's brother and was spot on. The gospel was shared in a manner that anyone no matter their age or education could understand. Our granddaughter is 9 months old and did very well in the service. There were other babies that did cry out some but it was not a distraction. Jesus never found children to be a distraction but apparently community church does. When we were exiting the pastor that referred to himself as the one that built the church called us aside to tell us that the they had spent 100's of thousands of dollars for the children so the parents cannot be distracted during the service. My daughter explained this was our first time and she didn't know anyone. He stated that he didn't know how she got by with the baby. He was not mean about it but was very rude to make her feel she had done something wrong by bringing her precious baby in the service with her. He said she could not have heard the sermon in which she said she did and he snickered and reminded us he was a father of 4 and for her to trust him. I must say my daughter was very gracious and kept herself from telling him off. See this man did not know her or our family. Her grandfather and uncle are pastors in NC and SC and she has grown up in church all her life and loves the Lord and was only looking for a church that she and her husband AND child can worship the Lord. As a grandmother I was angered by this man that he even had the nerve to approach someone new like this. Be aware moms and dads if you don't want to leave your children in the play areas for their age, find a different church. I believe children should sit with their parents during the service at any age to hear the gospel. If they get out of hand then take them out youself. Being in service helped bring all of us to the Lord under the guidance of our parents. I am sorry if other parents feel this responsibility belongs to someone else or the church. Needless to say my daughter was very turned away and her husband very angry. Thankfully he was not told until we got in the car. Again the message was great but overshadowed by the rudeness. I am sure the Lord is not pleased.
